Hamper makeover and more finds
I have been on the lookout for a clothes hamper for my bedroom, and when I saw this darling pink one, I knew it was the one!! The only thing I didn't like was the black top, but I was sure I could remedy that....
So I browsed through my collection of vintage fabric and found just the right one.... I covered a piece of cardboard with some batting and the vintage barkcloth, glued it to the top and the transformation was done!! Much cuter, now!!
Friday I hit a great rummage sale, and this is what I came home with!! Total cost for all these goodies... $44!! Including a drop dead gorgeous vintage eiderdown in great condition for which I paid (please don't hate me...) ... $3!!
omg...i am moving to oregon. i don't hate you....i adore you and your finds. w/o them, i wouldn't be inspired to find stuff for myself. you hit pay dirt and found some awesome stuff. can't wait to see what you do w/it all!!!!!

You found some awesome stuff at that sale. I should have gone, and now I'm kicking myself. That eiderdown alone was worth the trip there. Good job! The hamper turned out cute too.

I am so jealous!!! You hit the jackpot girl...I love that hamper!
ReplyDeleteI love them all, that's a neat birdcage, too. I'm so glad it's time to start junking. I'm sick of winter and I've forbidden rain, a lot of good it does! I hope I come across some great stuff like you just found, and for those prices, great job!

I love how you updated the hamper! How I wished I lived closer, I'd be with you all the time but I think we might need a semi!

Oh my goodness, what treasures you happened to find. Wow, what luck! Don't you love it when you find such great things? This weekend my oldest daughter (she's 26)and I went to a church sale where we normally find goodies. Dee found a Bobby Sherman lunch box, she turned to me and said, "I don't know who he is, but he's my new boyfriend", we both laughed. I love that my girls get the old treasure thing. I just love the little basket you found, please let me know if you decide to part with it.

Oh. My. Gosh. I need that mirror!!! I sooo wish I could find a mirror like that. We just bought a house and since it was a forclosure many things were missing, including the mirror from the half-bath down stairs! I have been waiting for just the right mirror and I just found it. Too bad it wasn't at one of the garage sales in my neighborhood!
ReplyDeleteThe hamper makeover looks great! Good job on all your other finds! Are you going to Cindy's on Saturday? XO Laurie
ReplyDeleteHi Isabel,
ReplyDeleteAs we were persuing through blogland,
we came across Maison Douce, loved
the name first and then your stories and pics. Beautiful inspiration...
We found a pic of our "Junebug" space at The Farm Chicks 2008 show.
It looked great.. we didn"t get any pictures of show, is there a way to get a copy? We were next to Joy and behind Queen of Tarte if that helps.. Glad and Celia, Junebug
