Then, I used an old quilt scrap to build a darling pillow with one of the blocks. I used my fast method to sew a backing to the pillow, starting with a cute pink shirt I found at a thrift store.
Finally, I grabbed one of my favorite baskets and gave it a pretty "dress"!! Can you see me going to the farmer's market or thrifting with it? I love the way it turned out! I have a few more baskets I want to "dress up", I will share them with you soon!!
There is still time to join in my 100th Post Triple Giveaway!!! All you have to do is leave me a comment here and you qualify to win some wonderful items from my own private collections!!
I love your pillow idea, so easy and simple and pretty. Thank you. Florence
ReplyDeleteYou were busy! I love the feedsack pillow. Great look with the frayed/knotted ends. ~Mindy
ReplyDeleteI was so excited to see what you did with the feedsack as I was given six of them a few months back. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteRenee
I love all of the projects! But I have to say the feedsack pillow is my favorite, mostly because it's actually something I could do. The sewing machine is not my best friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat great sewing projects. Visit www.heartsdelights.blogspot.com to see quilts ideas on my Monday blog. Next Monday I will have a couple more quilt ideas and then a give away for my 200th blog.
ReplyDeleteIsabel, I just love the feedsack pillow. You are so clever to tie the fringe into knots! I will have to try this. Your little quilt pillow is a doll too and another good idea to use the pink blouse on the back. Thanks for sharing. blessings, carrell
ReplyDeleteYou are SO talented, Isabel! If you could bottle that talent, you would be rich, and I'd be your first customer! You really do amaze me!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sheila
Sheila is right, you are SOOOO talented. We just love the BH pillow you made for us...it is Perfecto in our Maison!!
ReplyDeleteWow you've been busy. Love the cushion idea what a simple and pretty way to do it. The basket looks lovely, does the fabric liner just sit inside or have you attached it in some way?
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the next things.
Take care.

Loove your basket, Isabel!
ReplyDeleteI also like having those around my home and garden, they are so pretty in a 'new' dress! With frills, of course!
All your creations are divine! Thanks for sharing!
Hugs,
Monicax.
Your pillows are all wonderful, but I love, love, love the basket! You are quite the talented so&so! Debbie
ReplyDeleteOh I love that first pillow, well all of them but that first one is my fav. Hope you are well!!!
ReplyDeleteNicky, I actually just hot glued the edge of the liner to the basket!
ReplyDeleteIsabel
OH MY GOSH! I love this sewing method with the shirt on the back and that button! I have got to go home and try this. You are one brilliant lady. This is the first time to your blog and I just love it! The basket liner too cute. My hubby and I sold fresh eggs at farmer's markets for years and I loved it when women had creative (and totally cute) baskets to carry their items in. Loved your post.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Love the feedsack pillow! I'm working on one also. Thanks for the post of our shows last weekend, it was great to see you and so much fun to see everyone's shop.

I adore your feedsack pillow! Blessings... Polly
ReplyDeleteThat pillow backing trick is pretty amazing really. I am going to have to share that idea with my sister. We will be able to whip out new pillows using that technique!
ReplyDeleteFun, fun, fun, Isabel! The lined basket brought back fun memories of helping "prepare" the room for our grandaughter. I made a basket or two like yours (only smaller) to hold some of the little things a new mommy wants to have. Thanks for the reminder and inspiration to make one for a redone room at our place.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Betty :)
i love them all...all the projects you managed to make!! I wish I had more time when I see all this...I have some quilts to finish but I am afraid they will be in the cabinet...unfinished...forever...
