Objets trouvés (and an impromptu photo shoot...)

A few weeks back, I was thrilled to find this beauty at a local estate sale.... I am even considering trying to reupholster it myself (even though the velvet is not that bad, considering the age of the loveseat...!!) I love the petite size, and even though I am not sure where I would put it, I don't think I want to part with it, at least not for now!

This weekend, at Ruffles & Rust, I managed to find a few sweet treasures...

This pink toolbox had my name written all over it....

This chair is so sweet, I can picture it with a ruffly seat pillow...

... And my sweet friend Joy, practically gave this to me... It will store loose papers and templates. Love it!!!!

Well...

Since I was snapping pictures, and my kids happened to be home...

I called them out for an impromptu photo shoot...

Okay... So I had to bribe my son with a trip to the Dollar Store...

But it was worth it...

There was a lot of goofing off...

But I was able to get some good pictures!!!

And yes, children, despite what I told you... I am putting them on my BLOG!! Haha!!

{Loving me some} Ruffles & Rust...

 As we were driving back home from another amazing show, I couldn't help but think that, even though it was wonderful to come back with a lighter load and a heavier wallet, what was really, really standing out from the weekend was the way my heart felt warmer... I cannot even begin to tell you how incredibly rewarding it is to visit with like-minded people, who love good "junk" as much as you do...!!! The displays were absolutely jaw-dropping and, honestly, after visiting so many amazing booths, I couldn't even bring myself to take pictures of my own booth, as I felt a bit like an under-achiever... So.... Here is some great eye candy for you to enjoy!!

Friday night show preview (First Choice shopping) included a creative hat challenge, and boy, did we see a lot of whimsically fun and spectacular hats...!!

One of my favorite moments of the show was an impromptu dress-up party in my booth with two of my favorite girls, Tiffany and Kim....

Skinny Miss Fancy Farmgirl bought this sweet, romantic dress, which fit her like a glove!

Elegant Miss Mimi Charmante looked absolutely charming (and, dare I say, sexy) in this gorgeous vintage wedding dress...

These sweet girls (Amy and Kris, from the Today's Country Store) are the best booth neighbors a girl could ever have.... Thank you for feeding me when I was hungry and medicating me out of a nasty cold!!!

Thank you so much to all who stopped by to say hi, I truly enjoyed your visits... And thank you, Timi, for working so hard to put together a truly rewarding show...

A pink dress and a smorgasbord of pillows...

Every time I wear my pink linen dress (the one I am wearing in the previous post), I get people asking me where I got it.... I actually found it in a little shop in Venice, Italy this last summer. We were on our way to McDonald's (I know, shameful!!) when I spotted the dress hanging by the store's entrance. I told the family to keep on going, I would catch up with them... I felt like a kid in a candy store!! There were rows of linen dresses, tops, pantaloons, and I ended up walking away with not one but three outfits!! I so wish I could go back and buy more... 

Early tomorrow morning my husband and I are heading to Monroe, WA, to set up at Ruffles & Rust. I've been working on some pillows, and here is a sample of them!! There are more...!!! I hope to see you there!

From Junk Salvation to Ruffles & Rust

Thank you so much to all who came to Junk Salvation, I had such a wonderful time visiting with old friends and meeting new ones...!! It truly was a delightful day, and I am so happy some of my good "junk" has found new homes...!!

A home full of stories...

If you are as fascinated as I am about life in France in the XVIIIth century, then you will love this home as much as I do... I know, it does not follow the current trend we see for a clean, neutral palette with basic anchor pieces and minimal accessories, but this is very much what speaks to my heart... A perfect country retreat for a modern day Marie-Antoinette...
