Latest finds (and one of them has ears...)

I've had great luck at garage sales lately... I can't believe how much good stuff I have amassed just these past couple of days, and all the finds I am showing here were found right here in my little hometown, and out of only 3 garage sales (which is good because that's all the time I had during this crazy busy week!!)! And the prices were even better, I even scored some great free junk!

This awesome old crib will be a great display for my pillows, after it gets a good cleaning!

This is an old radio cabinet, I've already painted it, "shabbied" it up and it is ready to go to Monticello!

I love this dresser, it's very heavy and it will most likely get a coat of paint....

This sewing machine cabinet looks wonderful as a table!

Love, love, love the old trifold mirror!!! And the end table already came with the shabby treatment, all it needs is a crystal pull and, done!

Look at all these great vintage finds, I love the long suitcase at the bottom, it is lined inside with a robin's egg blue flannel....

How exciting to find an old schoolhouse desk! I would keep this one if I had a place for it...

Love the detail in this old floorlamp!! The top repeats the pattern...

But, I have to admit, the most exciting find of the week was this adorable polish bunny we found at a garage sale...!! I had my six year old son with me and he kept asking me to please, please, PLEASE get him one... I said no twice, then I thought.... Why not? Her name is Eva (my son chose her name) and she is the sweetest little creature!! Who could resist those smoky little eyes...?!

P.S. Lisa and I will be setting up for the Coburg Antique Faire on Saturday, September 12th, and are looking for a recommendation on a place to stay that night (the show is Sunday, the 13th). Does anyone have a hotel suggestion, or maybe know of someone who would rent a room for a night?!!! I appreciate any input you might have!!!

P.P.S. I've had quite a few people ask me about the vintage pantaloons I wore to Tarte last weekend.... Believe it or not, I bought them on Ebay about a year ago, and was delighted that they actually fit me!! Who knows, maybe I will have to start making some to sell on my (soon to be open) Etsy store!!!

Land of Tarte and Willow Nest

Even though we had a large soccer tournament this weekend, I did not want to miss a visit to the Land of Tarte with guest vendor Willow Nest!!! Did you see me there with my cute little pantaloons...??!!

Linda and Ludmil saved much of their pink goodness for this show, and what eye candy that was!!! The magic began before we even set foot inside the barn...

Once you enter those doors, be prepared to be transported to another world... I went around in circles afraid that I was going to miss something! When you combine the wonderful prettiness of Willow Nest with Cindy's incredible vision and the twins amazing antique wares, you know you are in for an absolute treat!!!

We had a wonderful time visiting with old and new friends! One of the highlights of my day was when this lady stopped me (I wish I had gotten her name...), pointed at me and said.... "Pineapple Brownies!". I said yes, that was me who posted the recipe on my blog! She called her husband, and when she told him that I was the one who had posted the recipe, his eyes lit up and he gave me two kisses on the cheek! I think it is fair to say he likes Pineapple Brownies!!!!

Noy only did I come home with great memories, to top it all I brought home the most wonderful find!! A vintage fabric covered box that is truly to die for!!! And, to put the cherry on top, my daughter and her team won both of their soccer games that day!!! I couldn't have been happier!

Every husband's nightmare...

These past couple of weekends have been great for junking!!! This last weekend Lisa and I had a wonderful time visiting Linda and Ludmil in Battle Ground, then hit a few sales on the way home. One of the sales was held in a beautiful property, and I couldn't resist asking the owner, Beth, for permission to snap some pictures. What a dreamy setting!!!

I bought an old wood table and chest, plus a well loved teddy bear, a doll, an old coffee can and a hat. I also bough a very old wood dolly that is already somewhere in the garage!

Then, when we got home, we found out that our friend and fellow dealer Karen was having a huge sale... Karen lives only a few minutes from us in a gorgeous farmhouse!! The horses wanted their barn back and she was practically giving things away... And prices kept getting lower as the weekend progressed!!! Every husband's nightmare (I know mine was less than thrilled...)!!!

Here is my pile (which grew a little more after I snapped this picture...)! Behind it are a set of 5 Eastlake chairs that I was thrilled to get for a song!! Oh and I also bought those owl fireplace thingies in the second picture above...

Some of the things I found at her sale (plus a couple of items I found at the Vintage Gatherings sale in BG).

You would hate me if I told you how much I paid for these iron headboards...

I love this chair and I think it will look amazing when I recover it with some linen fabric!!

I found a bolt of old fabric, reminiscent of an indienne?

In addition, I also found two sets of hinged shutters which will be perfect as screens!!! Now, I am off to plan some really nice meals for my husband, maybe a foot rub and some other serious pampering!!!!
