Loving the fashion trends...

Shortly after we arrived in Lisbon, the girls begged me to take them out for their favorite pasttime.... Shopping!!! We went to some of our favorite stores, such as Zara and H&M, and guess who ended up buying more stuff...? ME!!! I was truly delighted to see so many ruffles, so much lace and all in whites, creams and soft pastels... Here are some of my favorite pieces (from the above mentioned stores and Pimkie):

Next stop? Havaianas (my sister and her daughter modeling theirs...)!!!

Junking in Lisbon

Every weekend you can find a place in Lisbon where a little street  flea market is set up.... A few quaint areas take turns hosting these street fairs, so there is always one within less than a 15 minute drive... Last Sunday my mom and I went to Belem, home to the incredibly beautiful Jeronimos Monastery (where I received my diploma from the Portuguese Catholic University) and the Monument to the Discoveries.

I brought home a few treasures...

(this is a portable bidet, and it was practically given to me... The question is, how do I take it home??!!)

Today, I went to this flea market and came home with these...

Coming Home

The sight of my mom's beautiful pink bouganvillia assures me I am home... After a long 19-hour travel, we finally made it to the place where I grew up!!Funny how suddenly many, many memories start coming back to me....

The portuguese azulejos (tiles) and the cobblestone entry are familiar sights...

... as is mom cooking in the kitchen!!!

A gorgeous stone tree graces the entry hall (I made that pillow for my mom year ago!)...

My mom has been working on putting together a guest house in the back yard.... It is still very sparse and in need of warm accessories...
