Every husband's nightmare...

These past couple of weekends have been great for junking!!! This last weekend Lisa and I had a wonderful time visiting Linda and Ludmil in Battle Ground, then hit a few sales on the way home. One of the sales was held in a beautiful property, and I couldn't resist asking the owner, Beth, for permission to snap some pictures. What a dreamy setting!!!

I bought an old wood table and chest, plus a well loved teddy bear, a doll, an old coffee can and a hat. I also bough a very old wood dolly that is already somewhere in the garage!

Then, when we got home, we found out that our friend and fellow dealer Karen was having a huge sale... Karen lives only a few minutes from us in a gorgeous farmhouse!! The horses wanted their barn back and she was practically giving things away... And prices kept getting lower as the weekend progressed!!! Every husband's nightmare (I know mine was less than thrilled...)!!!

Here is my pile (which grew a little more after I snapped this picture...)! Behind it are a set of 5 Eastlake chairs that I was thrilled to get for a song!! Oh and I also bought those owl fireplace thingies in the second picture above...

Some of the things I found at her sale (plus a couple of items I found at the Vintage Gatherings sale in BG).

You would hate me if I told you how much I paid for these iron headboards...

I love this chair and I think it will look amazing when I recover it with some linen fabric!!

I found a bolt of old fabric, reminiscent of an indienne?

In addition, I also found two sets of hinged shutters which will be perfect as screens!!! Now, I am off to plan some really nice meals for my husband, maybe a foot rub and some other serious pampering!!!!

  1. Those were great finds you found. The sale you went to at Beth's is not far from my house. They used to have a primitive sale every year and now they just do this with all their close friends. I agree lots of meals and some pampering time is in order.

  8. Hi Isabel! I just got back from vacation in Oregon. I made it to the Barn House for their wonderful event with Willow nest. Wasn't it just magical!!1 I found a few goodies that I brought home for myself. I also found the Vintage Gatherings event on the way out. Unfortunately I missed this one that you've written about, but I did find a few goodies at some local garage sales. We (I) had a great time. Thanks for telling me about Barn House. I might have missed it otherwise!!

  9. Hey there Isabel,

What a treat!! OMG, I wish I had been with you..we would have fought over the OWL andirons!! LOL That was the first thing I saw in that picture. :0)

The pictures are just wonderful..I was wondering if you would allow me to save a few to print and use in my decoupage..I'm decoupaging everything in sight in my new home..LOL I love junk and these days when I see a piece of furniture that's all beat up the first thing I think is, "I can decoupage that!!" Please drop by my blog and let me know if you don't mind...

The pictures of the old barn red cabin with tin roof is one that I love and the one that shows all of the furniture outside.

    Have a great day,
    Stephanie

  20. I had to laugh! I read your post title to hubby and showed him the stuff you brought home and told him how LUCKY he was that I only brought small things home, that this addiction I have could be much, much worse! He calls these treasures "firewood"... imagine that!

Thanks for sharing your lovely finds, I'm totally jealous.

  22. What a SCORE. Lucky you.
I just used old shutters as outdoor shower doors. I painted them red to match the outside colors I have. i will post about it on Outdoor Wed.
Oh I wish I would have been there. We don't have things like that around here.
I'm glad you had fun even if hubby didn't : )
