Latest vintage finds

Lisa and I made it to Polk County Flea Market today, a small monthly indoor flea market we love to attend whenever we can!! I was truly delighted with what I found!!

This adorable handmade little chest of drawers will get some vintage glass knobs...

... and I probably won't change anything on this ladder style little cabinet!!

I love these vintage prize ribbons!!

I got a great deal on these baskets!!

Friday I also found at a local antique mall some vintage fabric and an adorable vintage quilt with the most delicious roses!!

I have finally finished sewing my crown button pillow!! I simply added a ruffle using a vintage inspired fabric. The fabric I wanted to use was a bit more intense than I wanted, so I bleached it, then gave it a tea bath to get the right tone!! You can see the original fabric on the left and the transformed fabric on the right... I am thrilled with the result!

I am deep in preparations for the Portland Antiques Expo this weekend, and still have a ton to do!! Of course, this is also the week when I have to finish a small quilt from my son's kindergarten class for a fundraiser event, and also fulfill my duties as concessions co-chair for the biggest gymnastics meet (also this weekend) at my daughters gym...!!! Aye, aye, aye!!! Wish me luck!!

  7. Hi Isabel,
Your pillow is really, really a job well done!
Lovely finds! The quilt looks so much like a Ralph Loren print that was highly in demand a few years ago. Think it was called "Emma".
Wish I could see all of my friends at the Expo, but we will be at the OR Coast. Good luck with all your duties :o)

I've really enjoyed reading through both your blogs (the story of your grandparents was fabulous!)and you have a beautiful family. Your collections and the treasures you find and create are gorgeous - what a great idea to make a crown from pearl buttons, it's really lovely.

    Enjoy your busy week.

  25. Great finds! I really liked the post about your collections...I am jealous! Not about your stuff (it is way cool, though) but that you have it all together and displayed...it is soo easy in this business to be over-run with *stuff*! Great job! Have a great weekend at the expo!
